Collaborative projects
AI Finland brings AI into practice together with selected partners. We currently participate as a consortium partner in the New Nordics AI and LUMI AI Factory projects. In addition, we maintain ecosystem and communications partnerships in other projects and programmes. Our goal is to build impactful initiatives that advance AI research, skills, and the practical adoption of AI in companies. Our work spans from the national level to international cooperation—especially across the Nordic countries.
New Nordics AI
The goal of the Nordic-Baltic AI centre, New Nordics AI, is to increase regional collaboration, strengthen shared expertise, and enhance the Nordics’ competitiveness in the global AI landscape. AI Finland is one of the founding members, together with AI Sweden, Denmark’s Digital Dogme, Norway’s TEK Norge, and Iceland’s Almannarómur.
LUMI AI Factory
AI Finland serves as an ecosystem partner in the LUMI AI Factory, hosted by CSC. Located in Kajaani, the LUMI supercomputer is one of the world’s most powerful AI platforms, and the AI Factory built around it provides a research and development platform for use across Europe. In addition to Finland, the initiative includes the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Norway, and Poland.
