AI Gala 2025
On November 17, the AI Gala in Turku—organized alongside the AI Summit—brought together more than 500 business leaders, experts, developers, and decision-makers to celebrate Finland’s AI pioneers and the most significant AI achievements of 2025. This year, the winners took the spotlight through interactive panel discussions and in-depth interviews.
AI Summit 2025
The ELLIS Institute Finland, AI Finland, and Foundation PS hosted a major international AI event on November 17, 2025, when the very first AI Summit was held at Logomo in Turku, alongside the official opening of the Finnish ELLIS Institute. The English-language event brought together world-class AI researchers, top business leaders, and influential decision-makers from Finland, across Europe, and around the world. The stage program explored AI’s role in strengthening Europe’s growth, competitiveness, and security, as well as the current state and future outlook of AI research and technology in Europe.
AI 1000 Days 2025
In November 2025, together with Technology Industries of Finland, LUMI AI Factory, and CSC, we organized two seminars exploring how technological development is reshaping work, skills, and business competitiveness. The AI 1000 Days events engaged around one hundred AI professionals in Vaasa and Hämeenlinna.
New Nordics AI Launch 2025
The Nordic AI hub New Nordics AI was launched in October 2025 in Helsinki in connection with Finland’s and Åland’s Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers. Founded by national organizations, the hub brings together Nordic stakeholders to accelerate the adoption of AI and strengthen the region’s global competitiveness. The Finnish government was represented at the launch event by Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen, Minister of Education and Minister for Nordic Cooperation Anders Adlercreutz, Minister of Local and Regional Government Anna-Kaisa Ikonen, and Minister of Economic Affairs Sakari Puisto.
Roundtable Discussion Series 2025
In autumn 2025, we brought together experts from various fields to explore the development of AI and its impact across different organizational functions. Across eight discussions, we examined topics such as AI sovereignty and the role of domestic solutions, AI’s potential in climate solutions, and its use in production, marketing, and commercialization. We also addressed the interplay between cybersecurity and AI, HR’s role in a major technology shift, and the development of intelligent work machines.
Meet-up Networking Events 2025
AI Finland’s quarterly meet-ups provide a platform for informal yet goal-oriented networking. In 2025, the meet-ups brought together hundreds of members to exchange ideas, share experiences, and build new collaboration opportunities.
SuomiAreena Roundtable 2025
AI Finland and the University of Helsinki hosted a roundtable discussion at SuomiAreena 2025 in Pori, bringing together 20 senior stakeholders from across sectors. Participants included national- and EU-level political decision-makers, top leadership from large companies and startups, public authorities, public-sector experts, and AI researchers. The aim of the discussion was to identify key actions and opportunities through which Finland and Europe can strengthen their position in developing and applying AI.
Nordic State of AI Summit 2025
Held at Helsinki’s historic Pörssitalo on March 12, 2025, the Nordic State of AI Summit brought together 200 in-person participants and 200 online attendees to explore the state of AI development across the Nordic region.
The event marked the release of the Nordic State of AI Report, offering a comprehensive overview of AI adoption, investment, talent, and data governance.
Throughout the day, participants engaged with expert keynotes, took part in societal and economic discussions on the impact of AI, and joined workshops designed to translate insights from the report into practical applications.
AI Gala 2024
Held at the historic Old Student House in Helsinki on October 23, the AI Gala 2024 brought together over 400 business leaders, AI experts, and innovators to celebrate Finland’s achievements and future opportunities in artificial intelligence. Organized by AI Finland and Business Finland, the gala recognized the most impactful AI projects, individuals, and use cases of the year across ten award categories. The AI Achievement of the Year was awarded to the Elements of AI online course by MinnaLearn and the University of Helsinki.
AI Finland Kick-offs 2024
AI Finland Kick-offs invited organizations interested in the network to a workshop to co-create a shared, inspiring AI vision and to identify challenges and solutions. Eight events for different target groups explored common goals and challenges alongside networking. The 2024 Kick-offs also involved co-developing AI Finland’s future services.
