  1. Scope
AI Finland operates under the umbrella of the Technology Industries of Finland and brings together companies, organizations, and other legal entities interested in artificial intelligence (hereafter referred to as “Partner”). In the future, AI Finland aims to become an independent entity funded and governed by its partners.

These general terms govern the contractual relationship between AI Finland and its Partners. Joining as a Partner requires submitting an application through AI Finland’s website, and AI Finland reserves the right to approve new partners. By joining, the Partner agrees to adhere to these terms.

  1. Partnership and Conditions
Partnership with AI Finland provides the right to participate in its activities, such as events, training, and networking opportunities.

Partnership is valid for one year from the joining date and renews automatically unless terminated in writing at least 30 days before the partnership period ends.

  1. Membership Fees
Partnership in AI Finland requires an annual membership fee determined annually by AI Finland. AI Finland’s operational period runs from April to March, with the annual fee set in February for the upcoming period starting in April. For the initial period (October 2024 – March 2025), a half-year fee will apply due to the formation phase of AI Finland. Thereafter, the annual fee will apply as usual.

The Partner agrees to pay the membership fee by the due date for as long as the partnership is valid.

Sponsor partners pay a separate sponsorship fee, which is agreed upon individually with AI Finland.

Fees are non-refundable, even if the partnership is terminated mid-term.

  1. Events and Services
AI Finland organizes various annual events, training sessions, and services, including workshops, seminars, and networking events. Detailed information and schedules are announced on AI Finland’s website.

Some events may involve a separate participation fee, which will be communicated in advance.

  1. Intellectual Property Rights
All materials produced in AI Finland’s activities—such as workshops, events, training sessions, seminars, and other occasions—remain the property of AI Finland unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Partners are granted a limited, non-exclusive right to use AI Finland’s materials for internal purposes only. Partners may not distribute, modify, sell, or use these materials for commercial purposes without explicit written permission from AI Finland.

Any intellectual property created jointly during collaboration between AI Finland and the Partner will belong to AI Finland unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  1. Termination and Dismissal of Partnership
A Partner may terminate their partnership by notifying AI Finland in writing. Termination will take effect one month after the notification is received.

AI Finland reserves the right to dismiss a Partner if they breach these terms, fail to pay their membership fees, or act contrary to AI Finland’s essential guidelines. Dismissal takes effect immediately upon AI Finland’s decision and written notification to the Partner.

  1. Limitation of Liability
AI Finland is not liable for indirect or consequential damages unless otherwise required by mandatory law. AI Finland’s liability is always limited to the amount of the Partner’s annual membership fee.
  2. Changes to Terms
AI Finland reserves the right to amend these general terms.

Partners will be notified of any changes in advance. If a Partner does not accept the new terms, they may terminate their partnership by providing written notice at least 30 days before the changes take effect.

  1. Applicable Law and Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by Finnish law. Any disputes will primarily be resolved through negotiation. If negotiations fail, disputes will be finally settled through arbitration under the Arbitration Rules of the Finland Chamber of Commerce. The seat of arbitration is Helsinki.
